SERVICES & QUALIFICATIONS
SARDOM provides to law enforcement, fire/rescue, or any official agency charged with the location and rescue
or recovery of missing persons the following on a 24/7 basis: 
  • Highly skilled and certified canine teams (dogs and their handlers)
  • Skilled escorts/flankers for the canine teams
  • Trained base camp operators and support staff
  • Field packs, radios, compasses, GPSs for each deployed canine team

SARDOM canine handlers and support personnel have hundreds of hours of training in multiple subjects,
before being allowed to respond on search missions.  Qualifications include:
  • emergency management
  • search strategy and tactics
  • radio communications
  • first aid and CPR
  • land navigation (map, compass, GPS)
  • lost person behavior and terrain analysis
  • crime scene preservation
  • scent theory
  • canine handling

Each canine and its handler must be certified by a national organization (ARDA, NASAR, FEMA, etc.) prior to responding
​to and being deployed as a K9 team on a search mission. Disciplines for which SARDOM has certified K9 teams are:
  • Canine Obedience and Canine Agility
  • Area (Wilderness) Search and Rescue
  • Human Remains Detection  (Land)
  • Human Remains Detection (Water)
  • Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue             
  • Collapsed Structure Search and Recovery
